Introduction. The heart of the economy is entrepreneurial activity, and the foundation of a progressive society and the basis of a healthy nation is the institution of the traditional family as such. Therefore, it can be considered that for a family, the organization of its business case is a positive potential, as it strengthens both the socio-psychological and economic union. The article defines the most important principles of the formation of a family business. Features are characterized and objects of influence of the behavior of family members on the development of family entrepreneurship are determined. Obstacles faced by family business participants have been identified. The main features of family entrepreneurship in modern economic conditions are determined.
Materials and methods. The goal of the article was achieved with the help of methods: system analysis, content analysis, methods of scientific generalization, induction and deduction. Scientific publications and analysis of international organizations in the relevant areas, normative legal acts, in particular work programs and documents of the European Commission, draft laws of Ukraine, scientific works of foreign and Ukrainian scientists were used.
Results and discussion. The article argues that a significant problem in the practice of family business implementation remains the lack of definition of the terms “family entrepreneurship”, “family enterprise”, “family business” at the legislative level, which is, so to speak, a conflict and causes a number of obstacles in the development and popularization of family business in Ukraine. The authors identify the key factors influencing the development of family business, including institutional, financial and economic, infrastructural, and informational support for family business in the country; family values that are promoted and tolerated; emotional capital; striving for a high-quality and dignified standard of living; authenticity and originality in the promotion of goods and services. This allowed the authors to analyze the existing models of running a family business in modern economic conditions and to identify the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. The article provides arguments in favor of the formation of the so-called family economy and this is evidenced by examples of family business of famous families in the world and implemented social projects supported by a family business in Ukraine.
Conclusions. Family business is more resistant to crises of various kinds; he is flexible to innovations, as they are discussed in a private home atmosphere, maybe even over breakfast, and communication between family members is frank and straightforward; more effective A so-called fair and impartial employer is inherent in a family business, and the training of employees begins in kindergarten. It is also obvious that a family business differs from a joint-stock, partnership, public business by the presence of values that the company is proud of, because they make the family business a business entity with the face of specific people. As a social institution, family business in its activities is aimed at preserving social values and reputation, the name of the business owner family.
