Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of the importance of education for the future development of Ukraine, outlines the goals of education and skills that will be needed in the future in connection with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the demise of old professions and the emergence of new ones. In accordance with this and based on the analysis of the education market in Ukraine, the challenges that our country will face after the war are outlined, recommendations are given for changing the educational system of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to consider the educational systems of countries - the leaders of the PISA rating, in particular Finland, Singapore and Israel, and to identify those factors that contributed to their success and which, accordingly, can be implemented in Ukraine, taking into account the peculiarities of our educational system.
Education forms human capital, which is the basis of economic growth. A successful school has a way of taking students on a path of personal growth and development further than they could go on their own. It is important for every student to acquire basic skills: reading, analyzing information, calculating, writing, but now schoolchildren have more opportunities to learn all these skills outside of school: through the Internet, interactive games, cartoons, mass media. That is why approaches to school programs and education should be changed taking into account the realities of the modern world.
Materials and methods. The article uses statistical data and conclusions of the OECD, the World Economic Forum, their official publications, popular and scientific literature on the organization of the educational process in Finland and Israel.
Results and discussion. As a result of the study, it was found that education is a key factor in the development of not only the economy, but also society as a whole. It is outlined that the educational system of Ukraine is not efficient enough and does not meet the challenges of the modern world. It is proposed to reduce the number of subjects at school by combining some, to emphasize the development of practical skills on the example of Finland and to focus not only on the acquisition of hard skills, but also on the development of soft skills, which are the basis of education in the countries of the leaders of the rating and help students in later life, entrepreneurship, chosen future profession, communication, etc.
Conclusions. The obtained results make it possible to understand the gaps in the educational system of Ukraine and the possibilities of its modernization already today, provided that small investments are made. The challenges that our country will face after the end of the war, for which it is necessary to prepare now, are outlined, the skills that will be needed in the future, taking into account the development of artificial intelligence and automation, and which need to be paid attention to in the training process are identified.
