Introduction. The development of the social subsystem of economic security in cities is an extremely relevant issue, especially in times of war. Therefore, the integration of economic security into urban planning and policy, the study and analysis of the close interconnection between economic security and social subsystems, the examination of international experience, and the understanding of how cities can use economic strategies to enhance the overall well-being and social security of their residents are pertinent and important matters for researchers, communities, and authorities.
Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the research consists of theoretical and empirical scientific methods, including analysis and synthesis, information generalization, comparison, classification, a systematic approach, deduction, and induction.
Results and discussion. The conducted research has demonstrated a close correlation between economic security and the state of social subsystems within the framework of the city organism. Furthermore, the author proposes mechanisms detailing how cities can employ economic strategies to enhance the overall well-being and safety of their residents. Investigating ways to strengthen economic security in urban environments can help alleviate issues of economic inequality and social tension, which are highly relevant in our time. Moreover, the scientifically confirmed recognition of the importance, and even primacy, of the social component in the economic security of the city serves as a significant lever for drawing attention to and motivating practical actions by both authorities and civil society.
Conclusions. Having studied the correlation of integrating economic security into urban planning and policy and the implications of such implementations for the overall social security of city residents, the foreign experience of countries with higher levels of social security allows us to confidently conclude that urban social subsystems, given effective management and proper funding, have the potential to transform cities into more dynamic, resilient, and economically prosperous communities with a high degree of satisfaction of the society's socio-security needs. Moreover, the analyzed experience of other countries regarding the financial-economic inclusion of vulnerable population strata and the multifaceted strategies applied provides an opportunity to reduce the challenges faced by individuals in conditions of urbanization, integrating economic security into the social subsystems of cities.
